New female competitor shows up the seasoned shooters

There were nine competitors at the Cobar Amateur Pistol Club’s 10m Air Pistol event on Sunday with Tim Turton officiating as range officer.

A number of seasoned competitors provided lower than average scores and lots of excuses, but new shooter Amanda Sime, scored an impressive first-time off pistol score of 311 and, coupled with her handicap of 350, finished with a final score of 661 (and a new handicap of 260).

Other scores recorded on the day were: Michael Garbutt 483-67-550; Robert Neate 482-48-530; Chris Driver 468-96-564; Jason Holmgreen 458-113-571; Todd Manns 428-83-511; Joe Simes 410-178-588; and Geoff Clayton 328-126-454.
