Survivor talks openly about PTSD

Beaconsfield Mine disaster survivor, Todd Russell (third from left), was a guest of Aurelia Metals/Peak Gold Mines this week. Mr Russell spoke at a public event at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club on Monday night about his experiences in Beaconsfield, what they went through, how it eventuated and how it proceeded through the rescue. He also spoke about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and
getting help. Mr Russell said he’s had to deal with a lot over the past 18 years and public speaking has been “a bit of a sounding board” for him which has helped him to get things off his chest. He is pictured with Aurelia staff Mark Kotynia, Laura
Newton, Dion Walker, Rachel Nuttal, Brett Ryan and Mark Aumua.
