The Cobar Amateur Pistol Club’s line up for the year ahead remains unchanged following the club’s annual general meeting on Sunday.

Mick Garbutt remains as president and Todd Manns as vice president with Lidija Garbutt returned as secretary (and also temporary treasurer).

Robert Neate kept his captain’s role, Jason Holmgreen remains as vice captain, Todd Manns and John Stingemore share the publicity officer roles, Lloyd Mitchell is still the scorer while Geoff Clayton, Sarah Cryer and Tim Turton will continue on as general committee members.

Following Sunday’s meeting a field of six competitors shot the Standard discipline with Geoff Clayton officiating the match as Range officer.

Sarah Cryer impressed the field with a series of five shots in the 10 rings out of 20 shots and finished with a score off pistol of 401.

With her handicap of 196, Cryer finished with a total score of 597, just three points shy of breaking her handicap.

Other scores from the day were: Amanda Parry 309-231-540; Lidija Garbutt 370-142-512; Todd Manns 413-175-588; Robert Neate   435-48-483 and Michael Garbutt 457-94-551.

All new shooters at the club start off with a handicap of 350.

The handicap score gets added to their off-pistol score and if this exceeds a total of 600, then their handicap is recalculated and issued to the competitor for the next event.

This gives new shooters a competitive result against seasoned members.—contributed
