Money making opportunities for local businesses

Local business people Malcom Cowan and Marie Johnson with Anthony Doyle (business advisor from Service NSW Business Connect), Cindy Burrowes (Business Concierge with Service NSW for Business) and Sharon Harland (Cobar Business Association president) along with a new business owner, Scott Griffiths, at Thursday’s information night.

Local business owners and managers had the opportunity to find out how they could make their businesses more profitable at an information night last Thursday.

Hosted by the Cobar Business Association, the evening presented local business operators with a variety of information including an update on tourism activities, the range of services offered by Service NSW for Business and the help available to them from Service NSW Business Connect.

Business Concierge from Service NSW for Business Cindy Burrowes from Narromine gave an overview of the services they can offer including: navigating government regulations, business profiles, licences and permits, grants and rebates, mental health support, liaising with other government agencies, the Women in Business Hub, managing debt, disaster and emergency assistance, cybersecurity support, business planning and marketing, and general business advice.

Cindy makes regular visits to Cobar and said she is able to meet one-on-one with business owners face-to-face or online.

She said her presentation was only a brief overview of what Service NSW for Business can offer and encouraged anyone wanting more information to contact her through the Business Concierge team.

Anthony Doyle, a business advisor from Service NSW Business Connect, also spoke at last week’s information night.

Anthony is one of a range of independent business advisors working with Service NSW Business Connect who have experience in running their own businesses and are available to offer free one-on-one advice to business owners on how they can grow, start, move or close a business.
