Roosterettes record their biggest win of the season 60-0

Tyler Chiswick (in her first game back from injury) making a break from the Binnaway defenders, was a great asset in attack and defence to her Roosterettes team in Saturday’s Ladies’ League Tag game at Tom Knight Memorial Oval.

The Cobar Roosterettes recorded their biggest win of the 2019 Christie & Hood Castlereagh League Tag season on Saturday with a 60-0 thrashing of Binnaway at Tom Knight Memorial Oval.

The Roosterettes continued their late season sensational form on Saturday in front of a good home crowd.

Combined with a poor performance by the visitors, the Roosterettes were able to greatly improve on their previous 18-6 win over Binnaway when the two sides met in  Round 6.

Coach Bianka Jacobson said she was very pleased with their performance and the team had exceeded the two goals she had set for them at half time, which was to double the score (it was 26-0 at the break) and to not let Binnaway get any points on the board.

A sin-binning of one of the Binnaway girls, just four minutes into the second half for dissent against the referee, helped the Roosterettes to achieve their goals, and Binnaway was forced to play most of the second half with just 10 players.

Even when they had their full team complement on the field, the Cobar players were able to find gaps in Binnaway’s lacklustre defence.

The Roosterettes’ Players’ Player, Laura
Ah-See outsprinted the Binnaway opposition on numerous occasions which resulted in her game tally of four tries.

Speedy team mates Madasan Taylor and Jenna Fullagar crossed for two tries each with Lisa Travis, Brianna Watson, Brennah Aumua and Tyler Chiswick (back from injury) also adding to the Roosterettes’ big tally.

Watson was given plenty of kicking practice in Saturday’s match and successfully converted six goals.

The Cobar side hosts Trangie this Saturday before their final game of the season next week away against Gulgong.
