Cobar swimmers compete at Warren and Mudgee carnivals

Cobar Swimming Club members recently competed at swimming carnivals in Warren and Mudgee with many returning with some new personal best (PB) times.

Brothers Jair and Jared Apaza, and Jacob and Noah Lynch along with Raymond Jones competed at Warren on Sunday.

Jair finished 2nd in his 11 years and under 50m Butterfly and 3rd in 50m Backstroke and recorded a PB.

He also finished 3rd in his 10 years and under 100m Freestyle swim.

Jared finished the day with a PB swim in his 11 years and under 50m Freestyle event.

Raymond Jones had a brilliant day in the pool finishing with three 2nd places and three 3rds as well as recording five new PBs.

Jacob finished in 3rd place in both his 7 years and under 25m Butterfly and 25m Freestyle events.

Noah had a big day in the pool competing in eight events where he recorded three PBs.

His best finish of the day was 4th in his 11 years and under 50m Freestyle swim.

Jair and Jared joined Makaila Gordon to compete in Mudgee on November 27.

In his 12 years and under 50m Breaststroke event, Jair took 8.60 seconds off his previous best time and also recorded a new PB in his 50m Backstroke swim, shaving off 6.69 seconds and finishing third.

Jared finished the day with a new time for 50m Freestyle after taking 8.71 seconds off his old time.

Makaila competed in the 13 and over age group and finished with three 3rd places, four 4ths and also set a new PB time for her 100m Freestyle swim.
