Lest we forget

Cobar residents joined countless others around Australia, New Zealand, Britain,
Canada, the United States and South Africa on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to pause and remember those who served and died in war. November 11, 1918 marks the day that ended the fighting in Germany and was previously known as
Armistice Day. It was renamed as Remembrance Day following World War II to
remember those who were killed in both wars. Remembrance Day is now a day to
remember all those who served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Cobar RSL Sub Branch member Chris Boucher led the service on Saturday at
Drummond Park with the Cobar Cadet 221 Unit and Cobar High School students and teachers taking part.
