Cobar Junior Rugby League footballer Braith Good joined some of the best up and coming Rugby League talent from across the NSW at Mudgee on Saturday.
Braith was part of the Far West Academy of Sport (FWAS) Under 16s team to play trial matches against the CRL Western Academy and also the Newcastle Knights junior representative teams.
The FWAS recently finalised both their Academy and Development squads and last weekend was their first time playing together in the respective squads after training commenced back in November.
The FWAS Rugby League Program provides athletes with regular high level coaching aimed at preparing them for higher levels of representative football.
The program also provides them with opportunities to progress further in the NRL pathway by playing in front of a number of NRL talent scouts against high quality opposition of various NRL Development Squads.
Braith’s Under 16s Development Squad side has future matches scheduled at the 10th Annual Nyngan Easter Challenge at Larkin Oval next month where they will play against development sides from the Parramatta Eels and Penrith Panthers among others.
The FWAS Academy Squad (U18s) will play in a curtain raiser fixture for the NRL preseason trial match between the Newcastle Knights and the Canberra Raiders in Orange next weekend against the CRL Western Academy and the Penrith Panthers U17’s Development side.
