Students and staff of St John’s School will long be reminded of one of their favourite teachers with a lunch table at the school recently dedicated to the memory of Jan Harrison.

Mrs Harrison, a teacher at the school, died suddenly in October last year with her death coming as a great shock to the school and to her family.

Mrs Harrison had taught part time at St John’s for 10 years before her passing.

A voracious reader, Mrs Harrison enjoyed reading to infant classes and also teaching maths.

She was a much loved member of staff and will be remembered as someone who loved to talk and who enjoyed the odd Tim Tam.

Mrs Harrison’s husband David recently donated a special table to the school in memory of his late wife.

Built for the students, the table was made from a red gum tree from the Harrison’s caravan park in Victoria.
