Summer may have come to an end however the Cobar Yabbies still have six more weeks of competition to improve their standings in the Club Championships point score competition.
At the Senior Men’s Swimming Club event last Tuesday night Chris Powell, Greg Dimond and Lucas Hardy grabbed the lion’s share of the points with wins in the 30, 50 and 100 metres handicapped freestyle events respectively.
Powell finished first in the 30m swim after finishing within 0.06 seconds of his nominated time.
Bill Fugar swam into second spot with 0.15 and Stephen Clark was marginally behind in third place on 0.18.
Dimond, with a blistering time of 0.03 seconds off his nominated time, was hard to beat in the 50m swim with Matt Harland (on 0.13) finishing in second place and Hardy was third with 0.22.

Peter Christen back in third spot on 0.40.
The ‘swim under water upside down’ Brace Relay novelty event resulted in a win for John Carswell and Neal Valk, who finished 1.75 seconds outside their combined nominated time.
Powell and Clark were second with 2.40 and back in third place were Hardy and Cameron van Breugel on 3.66.
