Twenty20 semis set to commence

Bushies, Tilpa, Wyatt’s Whackers and CSA are through to the Twenty20 cricket finals after the final round games were played on the weekend.

The top four teams had a good look at each other last weekend with Wyatt’s Whackers easily beating CSA by eight wickets in their match and Tilpa did likewise and beat Bushies by 37 runs in their game.

On Friday night, CSA won the toss but it went downhill for them after that.

They were dismissed in the 20th over for only 68 runs.

Tadgh Waugh (25) and Ted Smith (12)
were the only batsmen to reach double figures.

In reply, Wyatt’s Whackers reached the required total in the 10th over with Jed Noonan top scoring with 21 not out and Ryan Urquhart scoring 16 runs.

On Saturday night, Tilpa jumped from fifth place to second on the competition ladder after defeating Bushies.

Tilpa batted first and made 141 runs from their 20 overs.

Josh Brown anchored the innings for Tilpa scoring 66 not out.

In reply, Bushies never got going after losing early wickets with Stewart Fraser (26) and Bryan Manns (25) the top scorers for Bushies.

It wasn’t however enough and Bushies were bowled out for 104 in the 18th over.

In the semi finals this weekend, top placed Bushies will take on 4th placed CSA on Friday night.

Then on Saturday night, second placed Tilpa will take on Wyatt’s Whackers who finished third on the points table
