
There were some great individual performances recorded at the Cobar Athletics & Triathlon Squad’s (CATS) November event on Sunday.
From the field of 19 contestants, three individuals tackled the Long Course (500m swim/20km ride/4km run), three individuals and three teams took on the Short course (300m swim/10km ride/2km run) and two teams and one individual attempted the Try-A-Tri introductory course of a 200m swim, 5km ride and 2km run.
The handicapped winner of the day was Bobbi Murray, who completed the Try-A-Try course in at 59 minutes and 16 seconds, more than eight minutes quicker than her nominated time of 1.08.
Second was the 6 7 Team of Finn Hill and Mason Hill who clocked a time of 39.05 in their Try-A-Tri attempt beating their estimation of 45 minutes.
In third spot was Amie Hill who completed the Long Course in 1.19, six minutes quicker than her nominated time of 1.25.
The fastest finisher over the Long Course was Nathan McAndrew followed by Amie Hill and Parker Cryer.
The Chubby Boys (Caleb Theakston and Isaac Theakston) were the first finishers in the Short Course followed by Swoop Loops (Tom Jones and Henry Knight) and Peakletts (Chris Powell and Pearl Blackburn).
Vincent Willis was the first individual finisher in the Short Course with Breaze Fairfull second.
2Boys N A Girl (Cooper Trudgett, Josh McMillan and Bria-June Brookman) were the quickest finishers in the Try-A-Tri division with a combined time of 31.45.
The club will hold one more Triathlon event before Christmas and then two events in January, one of which will be held on Australia Day.
