Soccer comp receives a player boost

In the Mids junior soccer game on Saturday morning at Ward Oval between Liverpool and United Rhylee Patterson took aim at the goal, with United’s goalkeeper Kian Engel-brecht coming out to defend the attack.

The Cobar Junior Soccer Club has bene-fited from a boost in registrations over the past week which has led to four newly formed teams for this year’s Mids competi-tion.
In their first match of the new Mids competi-tion on Saturday morning at Ward Oval, Rang-ers finished with a 4-0 win over Rovers.
Among this week’s award winners were Charlie Nicholson, who took home the Gumnut Milkshake award and Mark Hibbert left with the Hotbake donut voucher.
In the other Mids game, United finished with a comprehensive 7-0 win against Liverpool.
Two games were also played in the Minis division with United player Willow Lennon and Rangers player Jack Presig among the list of award winners.
This week Willow collected the Gumnuts Milkshake Award and Jack took home the Hot-bake Donut Award.
The Seniors game this round was highly en-tertaining to watch and ended with a result of 7-all as both teams were equally matched.
Mitch Holt was the top goal scorer in the game, finding the back of the net three times, earning him the Gumnuts Milkshake Award.
Another stand-out was Josh Brown, who made a strong comeback after being away on his honeymoon.
He scored an impressive header in Saturday’s match.
