Roosters U12s claim a big win over Parkes

The Cobar Roosters Under 12s had a big 32-4 win over Parkes Marist in the Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League competition on Saturday.

The win was a bonus after their six hour round trip to Dubbo to play their Round 4 match. Tries for Cobar were scored by Jacob Chandler, Drew Barton, Tim Eves, Henry Rogers, Jack Rogers and Kai McCosker with conversions kicked by Tim, Drew, Jack and Cohan Nicholson. The team’s Coach’s Awards went to Will Knox and Jacob Chandler.

The Cobar Under 10s narrowly lost their thriller of a game against Parkes Marist with just two points separating the sides at the full time siren. Parkes finished as 32-30 winners.

Points for Cobar came from a four-try haul to Rowdy Barton and one to Cohan Nicholson.

Rowdy and Cohan were responsible for one conversion apiece with the rest of Cobar’s goals kicked by Billy George, Charlie Nicholson and Jaxon Waugh. Rowdy also shared the Coach’s Award with Hammam Nahantchi.

The Roosters Under 14s had a tough game which they lost 52-2. Cobar’s two points came from a penalty goal kicked by Tahj Foley.

The Coach’s Awards went to Brock Rossiter and Jamal Eves.

Cobar’s Under 16s team was beaten 24-6 in their Round 4 match with Red Bend.

The Roosters points came from a try to Jay Greenwood which was converted by Tommy Rogers. Reynold Mugugia and Jarrod Hilton earned the Coach’s Awards.

In the Mini League games played on Sunday morning at Tom Knight Memorial Oval, Thomas Knight and Xavier Martin collected the Coach’s Awards for the Under 8s competition while in the Under 6s, the Coach’s Awards were shared by Callum Townsend and Ford Ellison.
