The Cobar Clay Target Club annual Billy Manns Memorial Shoot was contested on Sunday in excellent shooting conditions with Aaron Marsh, from Bourke, taking home the major prize.

This is now Marsh’s second trophy win in 2015 of the coveted prizes of the Cobar club’s memorial shoots.

Trudi Tulloh and Brad Kendrick were hot on his heels last Sunday, but Marsh proved too good for the rest of the field on the day.

The event attracted 14 shooters and included locals and away visitors, along with some members who have haven’t competed in a while.

Winners for the day were:

Event 1: 20 Target Double Barrel—C Grade Tracey Boon 19/20, B Grade Scottie Brydon 18/20, A Grade Jim Manns 20/20, AA Grade— Bryan Manns 19/20.

Event 2: 25 Target Single Barrel—C Grade Tracey Boon 22/25, B Grade Brad Kendrick 22/25, A Grade Tony Holzigal 23/25, AA Grade Equal 1st Aaron Marsh and Bryan Manns 22/25.

Event 3: 30 Target Handicap Event (Billy Manns Memorial) Aaron Marsh won with a score of 29/30.

Event 4: 25 Target Continental—C Grade Tracey Boon 21/25, B Grade Scottie Brydon 24/25, A Grade Dick Tulloh 25/25, AA Grade—Aaron Marsh 25/25.

The popular Shooters Kitty event was also held with Blake Dunne throwing his hat in the ring to contest Sunday’s event. He drew a distance of 21 metres and finished with a score of 3/5, which proved to be just out of reach.

A Christmas shoot will be held next month and will be the club’s final event of the year.—contributed
