The sport of Little Athletics will continue in Cobar after four parents and a grandparent put their hands up to join the Cobar Little A’s executive committee.
After the club failed to form a committee at last week’s third annual general meeting, a former club president, Troy Knight, did a “ring around” and has recruited four others to help him run a 2020/2021 season.
Mr Knight, who served as the club’s president two years ago, said he was keen to see the sport continue in Cobar.
“We’re now in the process of getting it up and running,” Mr Knight told The Cobar Weekly.
“We should have a Little A’s season this year, it just might start a bit later than usual.”
Little Athletics NSW Western Plains Zone coordinator Bruce Cox said they are keen to help the club in anyway they can.
He said they will be running officials days, helping with coaching and staff will be making a visit once the club is up and running again.
