Ladies Golf comp to wrap-up today

The last competition game of the 2022 Ladies Golf program book will wrap up today with a Stableford.

The front nine holes were opened last week for competition matches on Saturday and Sunday. The rest of the course needs a lot of work before the 2023 season after the recent flooding has caused the majority of the sand to be washed off the greens.

There were nine players for last Wednesday’s Stableford with Julie Livingston continuing her good run scoring 33 points for the win. The runner-up was Fay Hardwick on 29 points while Barb Barklimore edged out Fran Samios for third spot after a countback when both had 27 points.

Fay Hardwick, Barb Barklimore and Ann Dunn were all Nearest the Pin winners on the 8th hole.

A Canadian event on Saturday attracted 12 starters with Brenda Fugar and Jannine Wilkin narrow winners on 73 net. Geraldine Francisco and Julie Livingston were runners-up after a countback from Fran Samios and Glenda Peebles. Both teams posted 74 net.

Closest to the flag on the 3rd hole were Julie Livingston, Jannine Wilkin and Pat Polack.

Numbers on Sunday allowed the three lady Ambrose to be played instead of two as advertised last week. Jannine Wilkin, Sally Bannister and Michelle Deppeler were drawn out to play together and combined well for a winning net score of 63 2/3.

In second place were Ann Dunn, Geraldine Francisco and Julie Livingston (72 5/6 net) from Narelle Kriz, Glenda Peebles and Fran Samios on 76 1/2 net.

Nearest the Pin winners on the 3rd hole were Julie Livingston, Jannine Wilkin and Glenda Peebles.

The 7th hole winners were Julie Livingston, Jannine Wilkin and Michelle Deppeler and the 8th hole winners were Narelle Kriz, Jannine Wilkin and Ann Dunn.

Afternoon tea followed the game with ladies now looking forward to the Christmas party and presentation night next Saturday.—T’d Off
