Council to provide two sealed carparks in the CBD area

The carpark behind the Grand Hotel is one of two parking areas in the CBD that will be sealed in the coming weeks to make it more user friendly.

Cobar Shire Council has been successful in securing funding to seal two car parking areas within the CBD.
Cobar Shire will seal both the parking area directly behind the Grand Hotel (which has entrances from both Linsley and Broomfield streets) and the vacant block next to the Town Hall Cinema building in Barton Street.
Council also has plans to include an NRMA Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Station as part of the Grand Hotel carpark upgrade.
NRMA is partnering with Transport for NSW to add an additional 20 EV fast chargers, including one in Cobar, which will add to their 44 existing stations across NSW.
“As we continue to expand, EV motorists will be able to confidently tour the entirety of NSW and ACT,” the NRMA EV website reads.
Council advises that both car parks will be temporarily closed while the sealing work takes place.
Work is expected to commence within the next week and should be completed by the end of the month.
Council hopes that by sealing these two car parks, they will become more user friendly, and will allow both locals and tourists to enjoy the main street and local attractions with ease.
