Cobar Shire Council staff are planning to auction off their general manager Peter Vlatko next week.
The auction is going to be a bit of fun and they are doing it for charity.
The council staff are taking part in a fundraising competition with other councils in the region with Moree Plains Shire Council throwing down the challenge to see which council can raise the most money for a local cause.
Cobar Shire staff will be donating their fundraising proceeds to Euabalong residents who have been affected by the current floods.
Cobar is one of 10 councils who have taken up the Christmas T-Shirt Day challenge to see who can raise the most money for their chosen charity in just one day.
They will be up against Moree, Armidale, Brewarrina, Walgett, Gwydir, Coonamble, Gunnedah, Narromine, Griffith and Narrabri councils.
Council staff will be wearing their best (or worst) Christmas t-shirts next week and collecting donations.
They will auction off the GM internally among their council teams and the highest bidder will get Mr Vlatko to work with them for the day.
Will he end up on the road patching gang, planting trees with Parks and Gardens staff, have to get up early and collect our garbage, pick up stray dogs, take sewerage samples, cover books at the library, welcome visitors at the museum, serve meals to residents at the Lilliane Brady Village or maybe join the kids at Kubby House for a day playing in the sand pit?
