The revamped Cobar Mermaids women’s swimming club has wrapped up their first season with a presentation night on Friday.

Tanya Gilbert and Steph Baker were recognised as the most regular swimmers attending 13 events each, with Bianka Jacobson, Zoë Harland and Sharon Huon not far behind each attending 12 nights of swimming.
Consistency proved the key for the overall point score with Gilbert taking out the top spot with 166 points, edging out Baker on 154.
Jacobson finished third with 136 points, ahead of Harland (113) and Huon (89).
Gilbert also picked up the top point scorer awards for the 30m and 100m freestyle events, scoring 49 and 47 points for each category respectively.
Harland was second in the 30m with 44, Jacobson (40) was third and Baker finished fourth overall with 35 points.
Special mention was also made of Jennifer Mitchell’s perfect swim in the 30m event, clocking her exact nominated time.
In the 100m freestyle event Gilbert was a long way ahead of second placed Harland with 34 points, while just one point separated Baker (32) and Jacobson (31) in third and fourth.
The 50m freestyle point score tally showed a close competition over the year, with just two points separating first to third place.
