Cobar golfer Jacob Ryan won the Men’s NSW Sand Green Championship held at Hay over the weekend.
Ryan finished with a birdie on the final hole for a score of 145 (+1) over the two rounds and was one shot clear of runner-up Travis Merritt from Rutherglen.
It’s the second time Ryan has won the Sand Green title having previously won it on his home course when Cobar hosted the event in 2015.
On the local golf scene, Saturday’s Par event was won by Peter Lawrence with Bill Fugar in second place and Ian Prendergast was third.
Nearest the Pin prizes went to Bill Fugar on the 3rd hole and Peter Lawrence won the pin prize on the 15th.
Sunday’s game was a Stableford with Piers Brown the winner.
Bill Fugar was the runner-up again for the second day in a row and Gerard Harland finished back in third place.
A Stableford will be played this Saturday in the Monthly Medal competition.
Sunday’s game this week will also be a Stableford.
