NSW Rural Fire Service District Officer Greg Martin handed over the keys of a “new” truck to Canbelego Brigade captain Paul Geppert last week. The second-hand tanker will replace the brigade’s Toyota Landcruiser which had serviced the brigade well for 29 years. Mr Martin said the tanker will enable the Canbelego Brigade to provide an even greater level of fire protection to the local community, and while it is a second hand vehicle, Mr Martin said it is in very good condition, with modern fire fighting technology and has only done 19,000km. The Canbelego Brigade is an active one, often attending grass fires and motor vehicle accidents on the Barrier Highway.
