The Cobar Athletics & Triathlon Squad’s (CATS) 2024/2025 season wrapped up on Sunday morning with the club holding their final triathlon and end of season presentations at the Cobar Memorial Swimming Pool.
After having a few years away from the sport, Mick Howell returned this season and improved his Long Course time from 1hr 17min at the start of the season to 1.06 at the end.
Howell was named the Male Triathlete of the Year.
Claudine Griffiths, who progressed from competing in teams, to completing the Short Course as an individual, was named the Female Triathlete of the Year.
Andrew Hill, who is new to the sport this season, was named the Most Improved Triathlete.
Over the season Hill improved his Short Course time by almost 10 minutes, from 52min 45sec down to his best time of 43.17.
Aisea Fakahua, who competed all year as part of teams, was named the Mini Triathlete of the Year and Lilly Fairfull, who competed individually and in teams, was the Junior Triathlete of the Year.
The Team Mate of the Year was Jayden Cryer, who was always willing to step up to make up a team…full report in this week’s edition out now.
