Surprise win for Howie’s Hombres over Tilpa


Howie’s Hombres chased down the big total of 175 set by Tilpa to win their Twenty20 cricket match on Saturday at Ward Oval.

Batting first Bushies posted a mammoth total of 5/194 from their 20 overs.

Jade Buckman top scored with 49 runs, Mark Fraser hit 32 runs and Stewart Fraser 23.

Tadgh Waugh was the best of the CSA bowlers taking three wickets for 14 runs from four overs. In reply, CSA was bowled out for 106 in the 16th over.

Tom McKenna held the innings together blasting 67 runs. His score came off only 15 scoring shots which included 8 sixers.

In the late game, Wyatt’s Whackers batted first posting 164 runs from their 20 overs against Golfie.

Tim Hillam (34) and Jed Noonan (32) top scored for Whackers.

Ahmed Pulock 3/3 and Craig Youd 3/20 returned the best figures for Golfie.

Golfie fell short in reply, scoring 7/108 from their 20 overs. Pulock and Jacob Good top scored with 28 runs.
