Soccer grand final games were both close matches

Wanderers finished as the winners of the Seniors division beating Rangers 3-2
United claimed the winners’ title in the Mids division with their 4-3 win over Rovers.

Very close matches were the order of the day for the Cobar Junior Soccer Club’s 2023 season grand final deciders on Saturday morning at Ward Oval.

Wanderers eventually came out on top in the Seniors division beating the Rangers 3-2 in a nail-biting thriller.

Isaac Theakston was named the Seniors Player of the Season.

He was also responsible for scoring all three goals for the Wanderers in their grand final win.

Rangers’ points came from a goal each to Caleb Theakston and Bruce Clark.

United claimed the winners’ title in the Mids division after their close 4-3 win over Rovers.

Cooper Surridge’s boot found the back of the net three times and Ashton Hyland also scored a goal to help United to their win.

Joseph Theakston (2) and Mark McBride were responsible for Rovers’ goals.

In the Mids consolation play-off match between third and fourth, Liverpool came out just in front beating Rangers 2-1.

Liverpool’s goal scorers were Henry Geppert and Jack Geppert while Henry Ntamuhanga was the lone  goal scorer for his Rangers team.

Rovers’ Mark McBride was named the Mids’ Player of the Season.
