Roosters dominate

Cobar Roosters fullback Ash Davies (with the ball) found some room to move in
Saturday’s Christie & Hood Castlereagh League First Grade match at Tom Knight Memorial Oval and scored two tries in Cobar’s big 52-12 win over the visiting
Coonamble Bears.

The Cobar Roosters First Grade side put on a dominate display at Tom Knight Memorial Oval on Saturday in front of a good crowd to record a big 52-12 win over the Coonamble Bears.

The game was barely five minutes in when Roosters’ fullback Ash Davies crossed for first points after good lead up work by Ben Griffiths who broke away down the sideline before finding Davies in support.

Captain/coach Thomas Plater’s conversion from in front was an easy one to give the home side an early 6-0 lead.

Zane Taylor’s unstoppable attitude was evident in Cobar’s second try and, despite having three defenders on him, they proved to be not up to the task as Taylor pushed over to score.

Soon after Tim Hillam broke the try line dragging a couple of defenders with him.

Hillam looked like he was wrapped up but he found a way to get the ball down by stretching out over the back of his head to score.

Plater’s second successful conversion put Cobar ahead 16-0…Full report in this week’s edition of The Cobar Weekly out now!
