Residents put on a great light show

The 2015 Cobar Weekly and Cobar Powerhouse Christmas Lights winners were Scott Robinson (4 Bourke Street), Leanne Mackay (4 Echidna Drive) along with Bob and Wendy Maher (14 Jandra Crescent). (Bob and Wendy were absent from the photo.) The Mackays and Mahers tied for first place after the judges were split on their decision. The judges said the Mackays scored highly with their well laid out display while it was Mater the Truck who featured in the Maher’s display that earned them top points. The neatness and precision of Scott’s well planned lights display was a winner with the judges and earned him the runner-up prize. The competition was judged by the Cobar Girl Guides, residents of the Lilliane Brady Village, Cobar Weekly staff and family members. This year’s prize money of $250 in Cobar Quids was provided by Cobar Powerhouse (who were represented above by Peter Moir at centre).
