TCW looks to the digital future

The Cobar Weekly is continuing to embrace the trend towards digital and social media with the rollout of our online advertising options.

Display advertising consultant Tahnee Tomek said it’s all part of The Weekly’s overall digital strategy.

“While the printed newspaper is still our top priority, we’re working hard to make sure we can offer a range of options for local readers and advertisers to cover the many different ways people look for information these days,” Mrs Tomek said.

Regular followers of The Cobar Weekly’s Facebook page would have noticed posts featuring advertisements from the newspaper each week including What’s On ads, positions vacant and more.

“We’re offering our customers exposure to an even wider audience this way,” Mrs Tomek said.

The Weekly has trialled the inclusion of digital advertising options for the past few weeks and, after a positive response from readers and advertisers, will introduce add-on digital products for advertisers.

“When customers book an ad in The Weekly, they are reaching over 2,000 sets of eyes reading the newspaper each week.

“They can now choose to include a digital distribution of their advertisement to extend that reach even further,” Mrs Tomek said.

The Cobar Weekly’s move towards digital technology includes the introduction of the Facebook page, and an expansion of our website to include photo galleries, a detailed What’s On calendar and more.

In addition, The Weekly launched digital subscriptions last year which allow readers to receive an online version of the full newspaper each week for the same price as the printed copy.
