The previously postponed Ladies Golf
Pink Day Stableford went ahead on Sunday
with 18 players taking part.
The winning team, Robynne Morton, Tina
Gordon and Sally Bannister, finished with 40
points.
Morton was the day’s individual winner
with 40 points and also won a Nearest the Pin
prize on the 3rd hole for B Grade.
In second place was Jannine Wilkin on 35
points followed by Karen Manns (34), Pat
Polack (33) and Susan Goonrey on 32.
Fay Hardwick cleaned up in the Nearest the
Pin competition taking the prizes on the 3rd,
8th and 15th holes.
Glenda Peebles was closest in C Grade on
the 3rd hole, Sue Phillips (B) and Pat Polack
(C) on the 8th and Brenda Fugar (B) and Glenis
Prisk (C) were closest on the 15th.
The Best Dressed category was won for the
fourth consecutive year by the team of Jannine
Wilkin, Narelle Kriz and Pat Polack.
A wonderful day was had by everyone with
all proceeds going to breast cancer research.
Numbers were low on Saturday for the August
Trophy day.
It was played as a Par game with Fay Hardwick
finishing as the winner after she was
hounded with phone calls to take part and
make up enough numbers for a competition.
Hardwick finished with an even card, collected
a Nearest the Pin prize and a dropped
shot!
In second place was Jannine Wilkin with -5
and she also had a Nearest the Pin win on the
15th hole for B Grade.
Fran Samios was the winner in last Wednesday’s
Stoke event posting a 76 net score.
She was also the best on the greens with 25
putts for the day.
Running a fast second in her new golf cart
was Pat Polack with 78 net.
Fay Hardwick was next with 79 net.
A Stableford game will be held today and,
for anyone interested in travelling, the Narromine
ladies will be holding their Open today
as well.
Saturday will be an early start for the Mixed
Foursomes Club Championships. (David
‘Ooze’ Knight has offered his couples counselling
services for after the event.)
The P & R Lawrence ladies Four-Ball-Best-
Ball Stableford will take place on Sunday so
golfers should organize their partners ASAP.
The men golfers will also be playing the
same event.—T’d Off
