After four rounds of competition, the undefeated King Roosters are looking to be the team to beat in the Open Mixed Touch competition.

The King Roosters scored their fourth win of the competition at the expense of Urban Strength on Thursday night at Ward Oval.

Bridgette Negfeldt and Molly Carter contributed a total of eight points to King Roosters’ big tally of 17 points with their two tries each (as female tries are worth double points).

Toby Greenwood added three points with his three tries, Zane Taylor crossed twice with Reynold Mugugia, Tadgh McMullen and Skye Thorn also scoring a try each for the King Roosters.

In reply, Malcolm Gillette was Urban Strength’s lone try scorer.

Greenwood, Jayden Cryer (Urban Strength) and McMullen shared in the referee’s Best & Fairest points.

The King Roosters will be tested in their next two games when they come up against the Red Hot Chilli Steppers tomorrow night and the Concrete Cowboys next week.

The Concrete Cowboys have won three of their first four matches and drawn their other game with the Red Hot Chilli Steppers.

The hotly favoured Red Hot Chilli Steppers were beaten last week by the CATS.

For the second week running Maddie Bruce headed up the try scoring for her CATS side  scoring three tries in their 11-7 win over the Chilli Steppers.

CATS other try scorers were Damon Bruce (2), Judy Grentell and Harry Cousins.

Brennah Aumua added four points to Red Hot Chilli Steppers’ tally with her two tries with Jack Brown, Kai Taylor and Tom Plater crossing for a try each.

Maddie Bruce earned the referee’s B&F points along with Aumua and Sione Fakahua (Red Hot Chilli Steppers).

Concrete Cowboys continued their good form and scored another win last week beating the competition veterans, Phat Athletes, 14-8.

Had the game been called at half time, the match would have been a 7-all draw.

It was only in the second half that the Phat Athletes lost the match as the Concrete Cowboys ran in seven tries to Phat Athletes’ one.

Concrete Cowboys shared the try scoring around with eight players crossing for points including Neve Carter and Kai Greenwood, who both scored twice.

Chris Crotty, Hannah Carroll, Jayden Greenwood, Fraser Talu, Molly Frances and Tyler Coughlan also touched down for a try each.

For Phat Athletes, Georgia Boland scored twice with Bianka Jacobson, Mitch Shields and Tim Hillam recording one try each.

Best & Fairest points went to Talu, Todd Fugar (Phat Athletes) and Carter.

The Rusty Snails proved to be not so rusty last week when they accounted for The Blossoms 9-5.

Ethan McLeod and Ashton Dietrich crossed twice each for Rusty Snails with Ben Dormer, Lisa Dormer and Nikki Gilbert their other try scorers.

Jaxon Burke headed up the try scoring for The Blossoms with four tries with Oisin McMullen crossing for one try.

Burke shared the game’s B&F points with Corinne McLeod (Rusty Snails) and Ethan McLeod.
