CPS celebrates a year of excellent sporting achievements

Cobar Public School had excellent sporting results in 2016 with the school recognising their sporting achievers at last week’s school presentation day.

The school’s 2016 Sports Person of the Year award was presented to Chad Buckman at the awards ceremony last Tuesday at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club.

The NSW Premier’s Sporting Challenge Award for overall contribution to school sport Years 3 to 6 went to Anja Kok.

The Cobar Public School and Robinson Family Award for Excellence in Sporting Achievement 2016 was awarded to Raymond Jones.

Two of the school’s best swimmers, Raymond Jones and Alex Reschke, were recognised for their achievements as State Representatives for the school.

Raymond competed at State Swimming in the 12 Years Boys 50m Butterfly and 50m Backstroke events while Alex qualified to compete in the 13 Years Boys 50m Freestyle event.

Other State sport representatives included Chad Buckman who represented the school in State Cross Country while Dakota Connolly competed in High Jump at State Athletics.
