A Cobar resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, won $200,000 in last Wednesday’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw, with a ticket that was purchased at the Cobar Newsagency.
The lucky Cobar man was a regular lotteries player but had only been playing Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot for a few weeks.
When a NSW Lotteries official called the man last Wednesday to break the good news they said he was “absolutely flabbergasted” by their call.
“Even after the news of his win was confirmed multiple times, he remained lost for words,” the staff member said.
“In absolute disbelief, he said he was too shocked to think of exactly how he’d spend the prize but revealed he’d always dreamt of buying a property.”
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while, this is perfect timing,” the man said.
A staff member at the Cobar Newsagency, Colby Lawrence told The Cobar Weekly it was “pretty exciting to sell a winning ticket”.
“It’s great to see the win go to a regular, loyal customer,” he said.
Colby reports it’s the biggest win for the agency in about four years and said he hopes that luck will continue.
