CHS students to compete in NSW Merino Wether Challenge

Cobar High School Stage 5 Agriculture students will get valuable firsthand experience in the wool industry as they take part in this year’s NSW Merino School Wether Challenge.

Stage 5 Ag teacher Kym Sutton said all schools across NSW are invited to put in an expression of interest to take part in the challenge and, with the Stage 5 elective course at Cobar High growing in popularity, the school thought it would be a good chance for students to learn more about the wool industry.

“The annual program aims to provide students and teachers with education and exposure to the Merino industry as well as associated industries such as wool classing and broking, shearing, nutrition, sales and meat processing,” Ms Sutton said…Full story in this week’s edition out now!!
