The Cobar Athletics & Triathlon Squad (CATS) club’s celebrated the end of their 2017/2018 season on Friday night at the Golfie.
It was a quiet night with a number of the award winners out of town due to the school holidays, including Scott Brown, who was the Male Triathlete of the Year and also the winner of the Marg and Setts Memorial Most Improved Athlete of the Season.
Brown shaved six minutes off his previous best time over the course of the season.
The Junior Triathlete of the Year (Raymond Jones) and runner-up (Chad Buckman) were however both in attendance to collect their prizes. The Female Triathlete of the Year, Ella Moratti, was also present.
The season’s Female Triathlete runner-up was Cheryl Lewington and Chris Powell was the runner-up for the Male Triathlete of the Season title this year.
The best times in each leg recorded over the past season were: Short course swim—Raymond Jones (4min 42sec); ride—Chris Powell (20.13) and run—James Egan (8.40).
Long course swim—Paul Callaghan (8.51); ride—Anthony Wrigley (37.01); and run—Chris Deighton (16.19).
