Cobar High School welcomed experimental jazz collective Microfiche to Cobar last week. Microfiche presented two student concerts, an improvisation workshop and a community concert. Students had the unique opportunity to experience music they had not heard before and engage with the musicians in an interactive workshop. The community concert was extremely well-received and was also the debut of the Cobar High School Taiko Ensemble. Pictured with the band are Cobar High music teacher Laura Andrew and some of the participating students. ▪ Photo contributed
