Young Cobar entrepreneur shines at business awards

Young Cobar entrepreneur, Bree Martin, was among the winners of Business NSW’s 2022 Western NSW Business Awards.
Bree collected a Highly Commended award in the Outstanding Young Business Leader category at the Gala Awards event at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, in Dubbo on Friday night in front of 190 business leaders and members of her family.
“Winning this award was a big shock to me, I was emotional and I still am,” Bree told The Cobar Weekly on Monday.
“To me, this has meant all the hard work and long hours have made it all worth it.”
The recently turned 18 year old was the youngest entrant in her category (which also included another inspiring Cobar business-woman Seigrid Peters from The Pink Galah).
The independent judges were impressed that Bree had opened her own business, Studio Envy Beauty by Bree at just 17, has complet-ed her Certificate IV in Beauty and has ex-panded the business, all while completing Year 12.
Cobar also had a third business nominated for the awards with Anni’s Arts and Crafts nominated in the Excellence in Micro Busi-ness category which was won by Dubbo-based 123 Tix, which also won the Excellence in Innovation Award and was named the Western NSW 2022 Business of the Year.
A number of other Dubbo-based businesses were among the winners along with the Dub-bo Chamber of Commerce who was named the Outstanding Local Chamber.
The winners of the 13 categories of the awards, will now represent the region at the State Business Awards to be held in late No-vember.
