Howie’s Off Cuts pulled off a come-from-behind win in the B Grade Indoor Netball grand final last Tuesday night to claim the title this season.

The B Grade grand final match was pre-played last Tuesday with agreement by both sides so players and their families could attend the Christmas Street Parade however the A Grade game between Cougars and Pumpettes was unable to be moved from the Thursday night and, as Pumpettes were unable to field a team, Cougars claimed the A Grade title.

After being behind most of the match Howie’s Off Cuts won 22-19 in a nail biting finish over Hot Shots. Both teams fought for the win right down to the buzzer.

After Hot Shots had called the shots for most of the game, Howie’s managed to level the scores at the end of the third quarter, however dropped back to trail by three goals midway through the final quarter.

With just three minutes left on the clock, Howie’s clawed their way back to once again level the scores.

Defensive players Kristen Camery and Sarahjane Arthur got a few quick intercepts to stop the Hot Shots from scoring and, with the work of their fast centre court players Tatum Brennan and Nicola Matthews, they quickly got the ball to their shooters Carli Shultz and Sam Dixon who were on fire in the final few minutes of the game, netting each shot they took. Carli Shultz was named Player of the Grand Final while teammate Kristen Camery was named the season’s Best and Fairest.
