A small team of five Cobar Yabbies represented the Cobar Senior Men’s Swimming Club at the annual Five Ways Swim at Forbes on Sunday.
Murray Harland won the 30 metres handicapped freestyle final with a time of 0.08 seconds off his nominated time with John Carswell narrowly behind in second place on 0.10.
Matt Harland claimed first place in the 100m Setts Memorial event and also won the 50m Scratch race with a time of 30.99 seconds.
The Cobar team finished second in the brace relay event.
Back at home in the Cobar pool last Tuesday, Carswell won the 30m handicapped event with a very good time of 0.03 seconds off his nominated time.
Second was Andrew Watts on 0.06 with Jason Toomey third with 0.22.
Scott Toomey claimed first place in the 50m swim with a time of 0.25 seconds off his nominated time.
Carswell, with a time of 0.37sec, swam into second place and back in third spot was Chris Powell on 0.69.
Watts was well out in front in the 100m handicapped event finishing to within 0.06 seconds of his nominated time.
Powell (0.85) finished second and Carswell (0.90) was third.
