Cobar recorded its wettest day of the month this week with the Bureau of Meteorology recording 52.8mm in the rain gauge at Cobar Airport up until 9am on Tuesday morning.
Our total rainfall for 2021 is now 205.4mm which, according to the Bureau, is much wetter than the long-term average to this time of the year of 121.7m.
Landholders west of Cobar have fared even better with one property receiving a reported 111mm in 24 hours. Across the Cobar Shire landholders have recorded amounts ranging from 40mm to over 100mm with one property owner south of Cobar reporting “we have a creek coming down that hasn’t for years!”
It’s expected to fine up now with the forecast for the week ahead predicted to be sunny and partly cloudy with a top of 25 degrees forecast for today, tomorrow and Friday.
There’s a chance of showers on Saturday with a top of 26 expected.
