Volunteers Memorial Service

Local resident Greg Martin, who is the State Protocol Officer for the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA), attended the annual NSW Emergency Service Volunteers Memorial Service on Saturday in Sydney. The service was held at the Memorial at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair which holds the names of volunteers from the NSW Rural Fire
Service, State Emergency Service, VRA Rescue NSW, Marine Rescue and the
predecessor organisations who have lost their lives in voluntary service. While there, Mr Martin paid his respects to Neil Hudson who is listed on the memorial. Mr Hudson, a Cobar resident, was killed fighting bushfires in 1975. Photo contributed
