The Senior Cricket competition has resumed in thrilling style with Tilpa Bushies beating the Whackers on the last delivery of the match in their Twenty/20 clash on Friday night.
In a nail-biting finish, Tilpa Bushies eventually won by four wickets.
Whackers had won the toss and elected to bat first but they struggled to post a competitive total, with their top-order batsmen failing to build any successful partnerships.
The Whackers were bowled out in the 16th over, with a meagre score of just 82 runs.
Jed Noonan (16) and Edward Paul (15) top scored for the Whackers.
Tilpa Bushies’ bowlers, Jacob King, Tarun Bheemireddy, Jade Buckman and Bryan Manns took two wickets each.
In response, Tilpa Bushies got off to a slow start, losing the wickets of Alec Fraser and Jade Buckman early in their run chase.
However, the middle order batsmen of Tarun Bheemireddy, Jacob King and Matt Nicholson helped Tilpa Bushies to chase down the target of 83 runs.
Bheemireddy and King shared in a 36 run partnership before King was dismissed for 17 runs.
Nicholson joined Bheemireddy at the crease when they needed a further 20 runs to claim the win.
It all came down to the last ball with Tilpa Bushies needing two runs to win.
Nicholson hit the ball into the outfield and he and Bheemireddy were able to scurry through for the required two runs to win the match.
Nicholson finished on eight not out and Bheemireddy top scored with 24 not out.
Ryan Urquhart was the best bowler for Whackers picking up four wickets with an economy of three runs per over.
Widespread rain over the weekend interrupted the scheduled representative game against Gilgandra at Gilgandra, which was declared a wash out.—contributed
