Four Cobar High School swimmers are off to the State Swimming Championships after their success at the Western Swimming Carnival in Dubbo last Thursday.

Henry Knight qualified for seven out of the nine events he swam in last week and will now compete at State in the 16 years Boys 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly as well as Open Boys 200m Medley relay and 16 years Boys 4x50m relay.

Axel Fairfull qualified for six events in his 15 years Boys age division including: 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle, 200m Individual Medley along with the Open Boys 200m Medley relay and 16 years Boys 4x50m relay.

Harry Cousins and Nick Hodges have both qualified to join Henry and Axel in the Open Boys 200m Medley relay and the 16 years Boys 4x50m relay.

Taylah Wyllie also competed at the Western carnival and, while she didn’t qualify for State, she did however turn in two personal best performances in her 50m and 100m freestyle events including dropping 10.13 seconds off her previous 100m freestyle time.

The boys will head to Sydney for the Combined High Schools championships in May.
