Tough tussle between two teams in triples tournament

The triples team of Kyle Roberts, Don Roberts and Barry Bargwanna won the bowls battle against John Goonrey, Daniel Holt and Dean McLeod on Sunday morning with the Roberts/Roberts/Bargwanna team now headed to the final.

With a big winning margin of 29-11, Kyle Roberts, Don Roberts and Barry Bargwanna were the victors in the Golfie Bowls Triples Championship semi final game on Sunday.
They defeated the team of Daniel Holt, John Goonrey and Dean ‘Bogger’ McLeod with the final score not actually reflecting the true tussle between the two teams.
The winners now progress to the Triples Championship final and play Greg Read, David ‘Ooze’ Knight and Alan Knight.
There were also 14 social bowlers on the Golfie greens on Sunday.
Karen Daly and Scott Mayne started the day off well to have a seven point lead by the 6th end only to be later outclassed by their opposition, Alan Knight and Helen Boddy, who won the day with a score of +8.
The runners-up were Mike Sargent, Peter ‘Skeet’ Goonrey and Alan Gardoll with +1 (or +3 depending on whose score card you go by) against David Schofield, Sandra Zazoni-uk and Glenn Ratcliffe.
Unfortunately the other game between Craig ‘Duck’ Grimmond/Margaret Good and Shane ‘Jimmy’ Carter/John ‘Shark’ Daly did not meet the score card requirements to be in the count!
It’s believed Carter and Daly were very deflated by their performance (at both scoring and bowling) and so were unanimously awarded the “George The Giraffe” award in an effort to cheer them up!—The Second
