
Bananas beat Fanta 12-8 in a high scoring match in the Juniors (9-12 years) Touch competition on Thursday at Ward Oval.
Bria-June Brookman and Jason Thou Cleary both peeled away to record three tries each for Bananas. Team mate Callum Bennett touched down for a double and Jax Claus also scored.
In reply, Josh McMillan ran in four tries for Fanta with Billy Dunn, Harlan Mahaffey and Rhylee Nicholson also touching down for a try each for Fanta.
Josh, Callum and Ollie Tranter (Bananas) collected the referees’ Best & Fairest points.
In the other Juniors Round 6 game last week, Blue Sharks made a vicious attack on the Red Rippers, beating them 8-1.
Indie Burke did all the damage for the Sharks running in four tries (worth eight points as female tries are worth double).
Levi Prince was the lone try scorer for Red Rippers.
Indie earned the games’ Best & Fairest three points with two points going to Mia Watts (Red Rippers) and Bentley Duff (Blue Sharks).
