State Member for Barwon Roy Butler has been hosting Independent Member for Wagga Wagga Dr Joe McGirr on a tour across the electorate and they called into Cobar yesterday. Mr Butler has been introducing Dr McGirr to people involved in delivering medical services across the region. Dr McGirr has a Rural Health Action Plan which is a roadmap for reversing the decline of regional health care. As the Chair of the Legislative Assembly Select Committee on Remote, Rural and Regional Health, which reviewed the progress of the implementation of the recommendations of the Rural Health Inquiry, he has been tasked to look at some of the specific challenges facing medical and hospital administrators in Barwon.
