The Cobar Roosters Senior Rugby League Club wrapped up their 2025 season with an awards night at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club on Saturday.
Thomas Plater earned the Eric Martin Club Best and Fairest Award as well as collecting the Norm Armstrong Most Consistent Back (First Grade) and the Barry Fox Most Dedicated Player trophies.
Tim Hillam was named the club’s Most Consistent Footballer with Gerald Mackay named First Grade’s Most Consistent Forward.
Ladies League Tag players dominated the scoring this season with Brianna Watson the club’s Highest Points Scorer, while Taylah Good scored the Most Tries with a big tally of 22 tries for the 2025 season.
The Daryle Bannister Memorial Trophy for Rookie of the Year went to Oisin McMullen and Rhylee Patterson was named the club’s Most Improved Footballer.
The Dianne McLeod Player with the Most Potential award was shared by Oisin McMullen and Sosie Barton.
Rhylee Jefferey was named the Rob Gilligan Junior Clubman of the Year while Claud Parisi earned the Tom Knight Memorial Shield as the Clubman of the Year.
The First Grade team awards went to: Coaches Award—Tadhg McMullen, Best Forward—Timothy Hillam, Best Back—Kai Taylor, Best and Fairest—Thomas Plater and Players’ Player—Gerald Mackey.
The League Tag award winners were: Coaches Award—Bridgette Negfeldt, Most Consistent—Sosie Barton, Most Dedicated—Kelsey Neve, Best and Fairest—Taylah Good, and Players’ Player—Rhylee Patterson.
Reserve Grade’s awards went to: Coaches Award—Dylan Boland, Best Forward—Jayden Paul, Best Back—Aiden Swan and Best and Fairest—Mathew Shepherd.
