Roosterettes were badly beaten

The Roosterettes’ Round 7 Castlereagh League Tag match at Baradine on Saturday was quite a physical affair with a number of Cobar players still nursing injuries from the rough play they encountered.

After a good showing last week on their home turf, the Cobar Roosterettes were hoping to back it up with another win when they travelled to Baradine on Saturday.

Unfortunately the Cobar side team didn’t have much to celebrate following their eight hour round trip with their Baradine hosts claiming a comprehensive 32-6 win.

The home side ran away with the match running in six tries to Cobar’s one.

Cobar’s points came from a converted try in the second half by Brianna Watson after sustained pressure on the line.

The margin would have looked better had Jordan Warren not been denied a try for the Roosterettes in the first half.

Watson earned her side’s Best and Fairest three points, with two points going to Zoë Egan and one point went to Bianka Jacobson.

Tyler Chiswick, with good team talk and excellent direction of play in the centre, was voted Players’ Player.

The Roosterettes are back on the road this Saturday headed to Binnaway for Round 8.
