A thrilling game took place in the Golfie’s bowls Singles Championships competition on Friday afternoon.

The match between Tony Polack and Ian Prendergast was a cracker of a game with Polack finishing as the eventual winner.

Prendergast started out strong and was leading by four shots for some time until Polack countered with a couple of two and three shot wins.

From then on Polack maintained his dominance of the game, but it was not without a tenacious fight back from Prendergast.

Try as he might, Prendergast however could not narrow the margin any closer than three points.

He had his final opportunity on the last end when it was still three points the difference but despite having the glory of winning the final end, Prendergast however needed four points to claim a win but only won the end by one shot.

Polack triumphed and will now go through to the semi finals…Full report in this week’s edition out now!
