The Cobar Memorial Swimming Pool will be opening this weekend under the management of David McEwan and his partner Daina Chen who are employed by the L&R Group.
Mr McEwan has 10 years experience managing swimming pools and in that time has also worked for the Institute of Sport in Canberra.
He has managed Cootamundra, Junee and Jugiong swimming pools and is looking forward to the season.
Mr McEwan said there won’t be many changes this season as he will continue to follow the L&R Group management style.
He said this season they are introducing a new inflatable pool toy for children to play on and there will be changes made to the operating hours of the water slide.
Mr McEwan said squad training and swimming lesson programs will run as per usual, however they haven’t decided who will be running the programs yet.
“If people ask for things then we might introduce new programs or if we see there is a need for something than we can change it, but generally things will be the same,” he said.
Mr McEwan said they have been busy over the last few weeks mowing the lawns, cleaning the pool and canteen and getting the water quality up to scratch ready for opening.
“I’m looking forward to the season, Cobar seems like a very nice town and the people are very friendly,” he said.
