Cobar Day VIEW Club kicked off 2024 with 12 current and two new members in attendance at their annual general meeting last Tuesday.
The 2023 club president Enid English gave a good résumé of the club’s fundraising activities, guest speakers and social outings undertaken during the year.
She extended appreciation of the committee’s efforts, together with support from the Cobar community, which ensured an enjoyable year for everyone and enabled the club to sponsor four students through the Smith Family Learning for Life education program.
Special appreciation was extended to the Empire Hotel’s Cindy Bryan and staff for hosting monthly lunch meetings and special occasion events throughout the year.
Sue Cox chaired the election of office bearers resulting in the 2023 committee being returned unopposed.
Enid English was returned as president, Kate Winders will continue in her roles as vice president and delegate, Bev Anderson returns as the group’s secretary and publicity officer and Lillian Simpson was re-elected as treasurer…full report in this week’s edition out now!
